Fun Things to do in Ohio

You don’t have to go out of state to have a great vacation. There are many fun places to travel in Ohio to visit. It’s fun to explore and learn things about where you live. Some of them you can do in an afternoon or in a day or two. You can just hop in your car and go. Depending on how far you are driving and what you are doing you may want to stay in a hotel for the night.

Here’s some things you can do any time of year:

Great Wolf Lodge in Mason Ohio is such a fun place with a huge indoor water park. It will make you feel like you are at the beach in the middle of winter. There is also a Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky. Ohio is lucky to have two Great Wolf Lodges in the same state. It’s a great hotel too. You do have to book a room to go though. They do not offer day passes. It’s a great little getaway.

The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is a treat for anyone who loves fish and sea life. Most kids love fish and will really enjoy this fun and educational trip.

Pro Football Hall of Fame is located in Canton Ohio. Learn about all the great football stars and honor the heroes of the game.

Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland is a must see for anyone who loves Rock N Roll.  You love the music but do you really know the history of Rock N Roll?

National Air Force Museum located in Dayton Ohio, which is the perfect place since that is where the Wright Brothers are from.  Learn about the Air Force and Space and so much more.

Miami Valley Gaming is a casino with many ways to gamble and horse races. This would be an adults only trip with friends.

Here’s some outdoor ideas for Spring and Summer:

The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is a gorgeous zoo where you can see the many different animals and the beautiful flora in the Botanical Garden.

Kings Island located in Cincinnati is one of the best amusement parks in the country. Ride the roller coasters, experience thrills and enjoy some family time together. There is also plenty to do for younger children.

Morgan’s Outdoor Adventures is nestled on the Little Miami River in Oregonia Ohio. You can kayak and canoe. The Morgan Family were the pioneers of the canoeing industry. You can also hike, camp and go rafting.

Ohio Bird Sanctuary in Mansfield Ohio is a nonprofit bird sanctuary that cares for Ohio’s injured birds and rehabilitates them. It is free but donations are always welcome. The Bird Sanctuary saves many birds each year.  You can walk through the song bird aviary and hand feed the residents of this amazing bird sanctuary.

Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park is located in Dayton Ohio. You can learn about the Wright Brothers who are the pioneers of flight and Poet Paul Lawrence Dunbar.  Visit The Wright Brothers Cycle Company Complex and The Wright Brothers Aviation Center. The Paul Lawrence Dunbar State Memorial features his home and is full of rich history and all the things he accomplished. It was the first historical memorial of an African American.

Ohio is full of so many things to do and so much history.
