You Can Do What on Craigslist?

I found something extremely disturbing tonight on Craigslist. I sometimes browse Craigslist out of boredom. I saw that they had forums that I had never seen before. I clicked on the parenting forum and I was totally horrified. It makes me sick writing about it, but I felt like I had to share. I went to the parenting forum because I am a single mom and I don’t have a lot of friends that live in my area. All of my friends are amazing, they just live in other parts of the country or the world. I guess that’s part of being a blogger. First I want to say, that I don’t really like Craigslist. I don’t buy or sell things on it. I don’t do much on it but browse. Noah is asleep because he is sick. I am not sure why I crawled in the bowels of Craigslist. I thought I would see normal parenting problems and people looking for advice. I thought maybe I could lend an ear, I mean I am a moderator on a parenting website and all. I am pretty good at giving advice when someone is looking for it.  I knew there were people advertising getting women pregnant on Craigslist but this is a whole kind of disgusting....

So, I click on it and start browsing. I keep seeing posts about people who are looking for babies to adopt. Maybe they are looking for a good agency or some guidance from others who have been through the process. Then I see it, I am pretty tired, so I thought I saw what I did, I rubbed my eyes and looked again. My heart sank. There are PEOPLE OFFERING CHILDREN UP FOR ADOPTION ON CRAIGSLIST. There’s a lot of them too. It’s so sad and sick that people would do this kind of thing. I am all for adoption when it is done the right way. I am sure adoption is expensive with all the legal fees and lawyers but still Craigslist? That’s really dangerous. You have no idea who these people are. They could pretend to be a loving and happy family and they really aren’t. They could do horrible things and be horrible people. I don’t understand it. Why would you just give your child to someone who answers an online ad? This cannot be legal. It surely isn’t sane. As I am reading these ads… cause let’s face it, that’s what they are ADS, for these unwanted children, I am crying. I am thinking about all those children who are victims of child trafficking. These little kids who did nothing wrong, and here they are being given away like a piece of furniture on Craigslist. I also wonder if this is some kind of scam that people are running. What is the whole process? Does money change hands? Are these kids safe? Are they being abused? Are they hungry?
This person posts a lot!

What is Craigslist thinking by allowing this to be on there? Don’t they moderate it? Apparently not because there’s posts from 2011, so I guess the forums have been around a lot longer. It’s a horrible thing what is going on. Come on Craigslist, didn’t you learn anything from The Craigslist Killer? I would rather see people hooking up than kids being dropped off at God knows where with God knows who. It’s deplorable.  It’s disgusting. It’s WRONG.  I also think of Silvia Likens, a 16 year old who was brutally murdered 50 years ago.  She was staying with a family with her sister and she was murdered and tortured. How can this happen? We live in a society where we have options, but Craigslist should not be one of them.

Then I saw this ad…. I threw up in my mouth. This poor 12 year old boy has behavior problems and possibly some form of Autism. I am not qualified to say either way, but his mom or maybe his mom’s boyfriend wanted to get rid of him on Craigslist. We have children, we love them, we take care of them, we nurture them, and it’s our job. We shouldn’t just give them up to anyone who wants them. Then there’s a follow up post.

19 days after the person posted, someone else posted the boy has a good home. NINETEEN DAYS! What the hell is wrong with people? I am not going to say I know what it’s like to be in their shoes, because I don’t, but there’s help out there. If you decide it’s too much, please get help. Go through the proper channels and at least protect your child and watch out for them.

Where are these children ending up? Why is Craigslist allowing this? Are these children slipping through the cracks? Why has no one noticed?

This has to STOP right now! We need to take a stand for these children.

Vivelle dot and menopause

Men are usually unaware how problematic menopause can be for women. In some cases, due to this lack of understanding, they fail to provide necessary assistance to their partners. As if that wasn’t enough, females experience various issues that prevent them from having normal sex. All of this affects relationship with a partner, as well as women’s confidence.

During menopause, women can experience numerous symptoms. They affect both mind and body but as we previously mentioned, they can also have enormous impact on our social life. Sometimes, women will be unable to concentrate and perform certain tasks which can pose a big problem in working environment. Menopause usually lasts from 10 to 15 years and during this time it will go through various phases. Commonly, women enter menopause around age of 45. In last couple of years, it has been noticed that more and more young individuals are starting to experience these issues. Medical experts fromYouDrugstore claim that this is direct product of stress. As it turns out, besides having overall bad impact on human organism, stress also affects aging.

Menopause is in fact process which removes our reproductive function. Previously, female organism was capable of having a child. However, bearing a child is a very stressful and demanding process that requires coordination of entire body. Medical experts usually recommend having a baby at a young age; around 20. As the time goes by, chance of degeneration increases. Similarly, it poses a bigger risk for a woman as well. As evolutionary response (in order to protect the organism) body will eliminate all the organs and functions that are important for child birth. This is done through reduction of estrogen within the body. Estrogen is the primary hormone that has different roles within organism. Besides forming sexual characteristics, it also helps build different tissues. It also affects mental activity and metabolism. When body starts reducing level of estrogen, it inadvertently affects other organs and tissues. As a result, body will go through real chaos. One of the best ways to reduce these symptoms is if you buy Vivelle dot online.

As previously mentioned, symptoms can be both physical and mental. List of symptoms includes disorientation, mood swings, depression, vaginal dryness, insomnia, hot flushes, osteoporosis, headaches and many other issues. They all can vary in severity and women will experience them differently. Of course, like anything else in medicine, it all depends on particular traits of biological organism.

Most medical experts will recommend Vivelle dot as one of the best estrogen supplements. It comes in form of patch and it is meant to eliminate issues such as vaginal dryness and hot flushes. Have in mind that estrogen drugs can lead to womb cancer, so you will have to use Vivelle dot under doctor’s guidance. Patch shouldn’t be applied on damaged, irritated, inflamed skin or open wounds. Have in mind, women who are pregnant or allergic to hormonal drugs, should never use Vivelledot for menopausal issues.

Thousands "flock" to Broad Ripple and run to help the homeless

INDIANAPOLIS – The Thirteenth Annual Wheeler Mission Drumstick Dash presented by Huntington Bank kicks off 9 a.m. Thanksgiving Day in Broad Ripple, with thousands of participants and volunteers raising awareness and funds for the homeless.

In 12 years, the Drumstick Dash has become one of the fastest-growing charity run/walks in the country and the second largest in Indiana. Last year, 15,630 runners and walkers participated in this fundraising event for Wheeler Mission, and race organizers anticipate up to 17,000 runners/walkers and nearly 1,500 volunteers for 2015.

Race organizers are gearing up for a record crowd this year. Steve Kerr, Wheeler's Chief Development Officer, said, "With the great weather predicted we think this could be our biggest year ever – which is a real blessing to us as all proceeds from the race benefit those experiencing homelessness in our community."

Continuing in tradition, Drumstick Dash mascot Jerry Gobbler -- a 6-foot tall turkey -- will start the race about 60 seconds ahead of the pack, and the first man and woman to catch him will each win a trophy.

New this year will be a live pre-race concert by local cover band Toy Factory and selfie stations along the course. As always, the Drumstick Dash will offer a 4.5-mile-long course, a 2¾-mile short course, and a free Lil' Gobbles run at 10:15 a.m. for kids age 10 and under.

This year will once again feature a Celebrity Challenge, with nearly 20 local media celebrities competing for a turkey trophy to keep for one year.

Founded in 1893, Wheeler Mission has been serving the Indianapolis community
through a variety of programs for the most disadvantaged
citizens – the poor and the homeless. Funding for
these programs has always come from the private sector as
Wheeler does not receive government funds. Proceeds from the
Drumstick Dash will help Wheeler serve more than 315,000
meals and provide nearly 135,000 nights lodging in
 2013.

Decorating your Car

Cars have personality. Sometimes it's from the way the car looks or the owner gives it personality. There are many different ways you can decorate your car to make it your own. As far as I know there aren't car decorators but that would be a pretty fun job to have. I thought it would be fun to talk about some different ways you can decorate your car. Some people really get into it and not only do they name their car but they almost even dress them up.

Did you know that you can get big false eyelashes to go on your headlights? I guess it gives the car an animated look. I am not really too sure about it though. It seems a little strange to me.

You can also be more traditional and by different bumper stickers or window clings to give your car a little bit of your personality to they can be anything from something from your kid’s school to a family cling, your favorite bands, your political affiliation, or just some funny thing that you like.  You can really find a bumper sticker for anything. You can even make your own online.

Another way people decorate their car as they hang things from their rearview mirror. You have to be careful though because of its too big could block your vision. I had a friend who had a ribbon tied to her rearview mirror and memory of a child I lost. You can put fuzzy dice, lanyards, picture of your child, a macaroni necklace, or any other thing you can find. A lot of people just hang an air freshener from the rear view mirror.

Sometimes your kids can even help decorate to by putting stickers on the windows. My grandma's car had stickers on the window for like 5 years because my cousin had stuck them on there since you couldn't get them off.

You can buy fuzzy seat for your car and all sorts of patterns and colors. You can get them from anything from beaded to pink leopard print.

If you want to decorate your car for an event there are easy ways to do so. You can buy car window markers and write whatever you want on the window be sure not to write it on the body of the car though because it might mess up the paint. I have seen everything from just married to cheering on a high school sports team to someone just writing a personal note on somebody's car.

Another way your kids can decorate your car is by their toys, some people put mirrors in the backseat to see there may be through the rear view mirror. It also keeps the baby entertained.

There really is no limit on what you can do to give your car a little spice. Of course you can get custom paint jobs in any design and colors you could dream up. It’s a tattoo for your car. Someone told me that their friend has a Hello Kitty car and it's completely covered and Hello Kitty stuff.

However you decide to decorate your used car have fun with it be yourself make it your own give it some personality. I wonder if in the next 5 to 10 years instead of interior decorators will be car decorators.

Baby on Board

I am sure you have seen those really cute baby on board signs. They are a yellow diamond sometimes have a cute picture on them. I have always wondered what they were for. I always thought that they were just to remind others to drive safely because you have a baby in your car. I also thought it was a cute way to be proud of your new little bundle of joy. I never thought that there was an actual reason for it. It makes sense though because it’s important to tell someone when you have a baby in the car. If you are in a car accident, it will alert others, the police and the paramedics that there is a baby in the car. That way they know to look for the child if they aren’t in their seat or if their car seat is missing. It all started in 1984 to encourage safe driving. People tend to drive safer when they know a baby is in the car. It has also become a universal sign to emergency crews.

It’s a good idea to take down the baby on board sign when the child is not in the car though. That way they aren’t wasting valuable time looking for your child who is safe at home or at daycare. To remind yourself you could place it on the car seat base or in the seat so you know that you need to hang it back up. If you are in an accident, you may not be able to communicate with the paramedics and mention your baby. Especially if your car flips over. Some fire stations will hand them out for free. I think they should come standard with every car seat. It’s also a good idea to place a sticker with your information on your child’s car seat, in case of an emergency. You can put your contact information and your child’s doctor and name. Be sure to include any medical conditions and allergies. I got a couple when Noah was born but you could just write it on an address label in marker.  Be sure to keep it updated if your phone number changes or allergies change.
