Traveling with Baby Noah
Noah and I love to travel. I didn't do any traveling when I was pregnant with him because I was on bed rest most of my pregnancy. I was also high risk and didn't want to travel away from my doctor. After Noah was born we started going on road trips when he was two months old. That first road trip was nerve wracking. I rode in the back seat of the car the whole time while my mom drove. I was pretty nervous that he would need something I didn't have. It was really hard because I couldn't hold him so sitting next to him was the next best thing. Thankfully, I was prepared and didn't go too badly. I was able to calm him when he was tired and crying. There's just something about baby's first road trip, I think it's the unknown. We have traveled many times since then. I am so glad that he loves to travel as much as I do. We have also flown quite a few times. We usually fly when it's far away like to see my aunt and uncle in California or when we just don't have the time to spend in the car.
My advice for your baby's first road trip is to remain calm, make sure you pack everything and just breathe. I hope that everyone has the chance to travel with their children at a young age. While they won't remember it, you will. Maybe not go to an amusement park with them that young but go to the beach or go visit family. One of my favorite baby videos of Noah is where he is sitting on the floor in my aunt's kitchen when he's ten months old. He is playing with measuring cups and spoons and getting in to all her plastic bowls and containers. It's also makes great memories for those who you travel with or visit too. We still talk about his first visit to California whenever we see them.
