NatureSeal Review

My family loves fruit. Noah is a fruit eating machine. He loves to eat all kinds of fruit. He loves fresh fruit, but we don't go shopping a lot. I like to get groceries delivered so I like to stock up on fresh produce whenever I can. I like to pick my own stuff because sometimes the quality isn't great.  However it poses a problem when I buy too much or we eat it slowly.  I try to plan for it not to happen but it does. I hate throwing away food that I bought. It makes me sad.

We love to have family get together a for Memorial Day. Last year I was able to see my cousin who moved to Switzerland. It had been a long time since we saw each other. She and Noah are kindred spirits.  We like to bring food and hang out at each other's homes. We rarely go out
somewhere, unless it's for ice cream.

We often have a cookout because it's easy and fun. We have a really big family so it's fun to watch the kids play and just catch up. One of the problems is with certain foods they start to turn brown after being cut. There are all kinds of tips and tricks to get them not to turn brown but I am always leery about them. Some of them are really crazy. I had the chance to try out some products from NatureSeal to help prolong the life of our cut up fruit. I like to wash and cut up fruit all at once. That way Noah can just grab it and eat it whenever he wants. Noah does not like to eat browning fruit. There’s nothing wrong with it, but he is picky.

NatureSeal has two great products on the markets to help prolong your produce:

The first one is for Fresh Cut Produce. It stops browning while maintaining the flavor and texture for up to two weeks. I am not sure how my fridge eats things but sometimes things get pushed to the back and forgotten about. I love that it is a blend of vitamins and minerals. I like to sneak those in Noah’s diet whenever I can. It’s also non-allergen and sulfate and sodium free. NatureSeal was jointly developed with the USDA.

It’s effective up to 14 days on apples and up to 7 days on pears, stone fruit, carrots, and celery.  That means you can have lots of carrots and celery cut up for the summer.

It’s really easy to use too.  Just six easy steps.  Wash the produce in cold water and treat in a sanitary environment. Dissolve the NatureSeal in 8 ounces of COLD water.  With a sharp blade cut up produce.  Immediately immerse produce in NatureSeal solution after cutting, stirring gently to make sure all sliced surfaces are covered. It’s important that the cut produce is in the solution for at least one minute but no longer than five minutes.  Drain the produce and store in the refrigerator in a sealed bag or a covered container.  Write the date on the bag so you know when you cut it.  If you are using a plastic covered container, you can write on it with dry erase marker. Make sure you put it in the fridge and do not let it sit out for more than eight hours.  If you leave it out longer than eight hours, you will have to throw it away.

The other product is For Guacamole and Avocado. It inhibits browning. It’s a blend of vitamins, minerals and organic acids. It’s also Sulfite-free, gluten free and GMO-Free. It works on both guacamole and cut up avocados. Depending if you are making guacamole or avocados the directions are different. I love that the easy to follow directions are on all of the NatureSeal products. When you use the Guacamole Avocado Packet, you can only keep it out for four hours.

My brother in law makes the world’s best guacamole. I can’t wait to tell him about it.  My niece loves to eat sliced avocado as a snack. My sister and brother in law both work full time so they don’t have tons of extra time to cut up avocados for my sweet little niece. They also make a lot of guacamole using my brother in law’s family recipe.  I am not a huge guacamole fan, but I love Mike’s.  I will definitely show them how NatureSeal works.

I like to put apple slices in Noah’s lunch but he didn’t want them for a while because the apples would turn brown. I have been sending the apple slices again and I am happy to report, they were not brown. Noah’s lunch was around noon so it was in the safe time for them not to be out too long. I told him if he didn’t want to eat them for some reason, to throw them away at lunch. I am happy to report that he has eaten them every day I have sent them. I was able to slice a bunch of apples treated NatureSeal and mornings have been easier. We both like to eat sliced apples and caramel after school together while we chat about our days.

NatureSeal does not inhibit or prevent microbial growth so please note when you treated your cut produce and make sure you keep your cut produce refrigerated.
