It’s been a long winter for most of the country and Spring will be here very soon. It’s time to think about doing spring cleaning in our homes and in our cars. There are some things you need to know when it comes to getting your car ready for Spring:
Get your brakes checked. Make sure they are working properly.
Get a car wash and get rid of the left over salt from the roads. Be prepared to wait at the car wash because there are many others who want to wash their cars too.
Get an oil change because it’s been three months since your last one. It might be a good idea to get rid of the winter oil and start fresh for Spring.
Get your alignment checked. Don’t forget about your suspension too.
Rotate your tires and replace any tires that might be balding.
I am a big believer in routine maintenance checks for your car. Dealers typically have a service department who can help you keep your car healthy.
Replenish your safety kit. Replace any items you consumed or that are expired. Make sure you have a full kit for an emergency. Check flashlight batteries. Be sure to check your first aid kit too.
Clean your car out. Get rid of anything you don’t need or trash. Vacuum your car out and get rid of those old crunched up cereal and crackers. Look under the seats for old cups or bottles.
