Travel sized toiletries

One of the cool things about road trips is you are to travel inexpensively. You don’t have to pay per person when you travel by car. It’s great when you don’t have to stay in a hotel because that’s an expense that can add up quickly. Since my mom lives in Florida, we always have a place to stay. We like to stay in hotels sometimes too. It’s not always an option. When we visit my sister’s family, there’s just no room for us to stay with her. I am fine with that. I love my sister, but we have clashing personalities. It’s nice to see her but not have to spend every minute with each other.

We like to collect the toiletries from hotels. I am not sure if they can keep the unopened items in a room after the guest leaves. If you travel a lot, you can collect them fast. I like to donate them to shelters to help those who are in need. It’s easy to forget and take things for granted. I couldn’t imagine not having simple toiletries or something as simple as underwear. Travel sized items are great for those in need because they can just stick them in a pocket or small bag. I have never tried to carry around full sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner before. I am sure it’s quite heavy after a while. I like to pick up extra toiletries when I can.

Noah’s after school club is doing a service project. It’s donating travel sized toiletries to homeless teens in our area. I absolutely love this idea. I think it can be hard for kids to fully understand how lucky they are sometimes. It’s easy to forget when you become accustomed to your life. It’s really something to think about. It reminds me of when Noah wanted a really expensive hoodie. I said no and reminded him that some people just want a hoodie. It doesn’t matter the brand name.

I will have to go stock up and send Noah with some travel sized necessities for them. Just taking a shower can make a person feel good. It’s the little things sometimes that mean the most.

You can also keep travel sized toiletries in your car to pass out to the homeless. It’s also a good idea to keep a travel bag with items in your car in case you forget something while traveling. You can also keep over the counter medicine in there. When we went on spring break, I packed a bottle of ibuprofen. Somehow between the pure chaos of packing the car and the cats I forgot that I took it out and left it on the counter. Trying to get to a random Walmart in an unknown area can be tricky. Gas stations don’t always sell over the counter medicine. That’s especially true when it comes to children’s products. You can also keep motion sickness medicine in the car. It really belongs in there. Thankfully, it works well for Noah. That’s something that you should stock up on when you can find it. Trust me, you want to have it. It’s better to not need than need it and not have it.
