Buying car parts on Facebook

Sometimes our cars stop working and we need repairs. The best thing you can do is take it to a dealership. They know your specific make and model well. They will know the best way to fix it. As someone who looks at the Facebook Marketplace, I know you can buy cars from private sellers. Those cars will be considered an as is sale. There will be no warranty or even a real way to get ahold of the seller. You can block someone with a click and you are left holding the bag.

A friend of mine asked me if I knew anyone who was looking to buy a car.  I said I am against purchasing a car from a third party. I explained the reasons. We have car dealerships for a reason. We don’t buy our groceries from the side of the road or from someone we don’t know. We go to the grocery store. It’s not safe.

Another thing I have noticed is people are selling car parts on Facebook. That is extremely dangerous because you have no idea of the condition of the car part or where it came from. It could look new but still be broken and you wouldn’t know until it’s too late. You should always go to the  car dealership because they get their car parts from the manufacturer new. You don’t have to worry if it was a broken part that someone just wanted to get rid of.

Some people purchase lots of stuff for resale. While most of the time, it great stuff in new condition, there could be something wrong with it. You can’t plug in a car car part like you can plug in a microwave or vacuum cleaner. You are really taking a gamble with not only your money but your families safety.
