Starting an Organic Life

I recently celebrated my 40th birthday. I have decided that I want to live a more organic lifestyle. I’ve always thought that organic meant more expensive. I was wrong. Organic may be a little more expensive, however it’s really not much more. Eating organic foods can possibly make you a bit healthier. Eating fruits and vegetables that are sprayed with chemicals is not a good thing. Let’s be honest, I don’t always wash my fruits and vegetables every time. I’m trying to make a better effort to do so. The pandemic is having me rethink all kinds of choices I’ve made. We are all definitely more aware of our surroundings. 

Every year around this time I am reminded of my tumor from 2014. I am also reminded of my surgery and how painful and scary that whole experience was. It’s reminded me that something could happen at anytime. I should make a better effort. 

While I have started my research to make better choices for my family, I have noticed that the Internet is full of click bait, fake articles and tips. It’s hard to find a trustworthy source when it comes to organic living. It’s important to know where your products are coming from. It’s also good idea not to get sucked in to trends, because most of the time it’s not going to work the way you want it to. 

I found a great resource called Organic Bunny. You can follow them on Twitter for very insightful information and new product information. They also have an amazing website full of products that anyone would love. They have things like makeup in beautiful colors. They also have tons of home products like tote bags and sleep items. I think the whale planter is absolutely adorable and it would definitely fit in with our sea life and beach decor. I also learned that there’s pet toys that my cats would love to play with. 

They have everything including dental products like recycled toothbrushes. We go through so many toothbrushes and it just gets thrown away, why not use one that was made from recycled materials? Organic Bunny also sells little pet bow ties. Charlie would look very sharp in a little bow tie. Noah went through a phase where he thought Charlie needed a bow tie. They also sell poop bags that are biodegradable. Can you imagine how cool that is? Of course, you still want to throw it away. It helps reduce the trash in the landfills though. 

I admittedly have some trouble sleeping at night. I would be very interested in seeing how some of sleep products that Organic Bunny sells work. It would probably be better for me. Maybe I need a satin pillow too.

I think it’s a common idea that organic just means food, in reality it means so much more.  There’s so many choices and organic products than there were ten years ago. I’m really excited to start this journey and see where it takes me.
