Be Thankful!

Today I was on twitter and I saw that a man tweeted about something that a big company did for people in Kenya. I tweeted him back and said how wonderful it was, and he responded with a link with pictures of the trip. I looked at them and my heart sank. The tears started flowing it was so sad. The streets were filled with trash and the people had sores on their feet. The houses were what looked like cardboard shacks. It was devastating to me.

I watch the 700 club a lot so I know what it is like in third world countries. It is so depressing. I find myself not wanting to watch those stories because it is so upsetting.

So I just wanted to remind everyone to be thankful. Be thankful you have a place that keeps you dry when it rains and keeps you warm in the cold. Be thankful for the clean water you drink and bathe in. Be thankful for the food you eat and that you and your family have full bellies. Be thankful that your children can go to the doctor when they are sick even if you don’t have the money to pay for it. You still have the OPTION to go. There are qualified people to take care of us when we are sick. They also can help prevent it. Be thankful for your nice warm bed. Be thankful to your children’s schools and teachers for providing an education for them. Be thankful for all you have.

Sometimes it is hard to focus on what we have vs. what we want. Unfortunately we live in a society where people always want more or better. More Money, More things or Better Cars, Better Electronics or Bigger Houses. Everyone is trying to keep up with the Joneses and trying to have a better status symbol. While you do that you carelessly forget about those little things that sound like no big deal. You know those little things like food, water and shelter? To those people in third world countries we live like KINGS and QUEENS.

Some of them work their fingers to the bone for a week for what we get for minimum wage an hour. Some walk miles for water, not clean water mind you but dirty disease ridden water, it’s wet. Parents are being killed by other people or disease which leaves 12 year old sometimes younger kids to take care of their brothers and sisters because they have no one else to take care of them. There isn’t foster care; there isn’t much help at all. Those children that are now responsible for their siblings, they don’t eat so they can feed the younger kids.

The diseases they get are horrible. They don’t have proper medical care. They don’t have proper protection of the elements. Thousands of people die each day. Sometimes all it takes is $5 dollars worth of medicine to save them and they don’t even have that.

So please remember to BE THANKFUL for what you have vs. what you don’t. After all you have a lot more than some.

Sprout Baby Review-Sprout Foods baby food

I used to help supplement Noah’s diet with occasional baby food. It would help him get extra nutrients and I didn’t have to worry about all the extra stuff that is in table food. It is also something to have on hand if he is sick and doesn’t feel like eating something he has to work at. He is now strictly on table food. Before we stopped the occasional baby food, Noah had the opportunity to try Sprout Foods baby food. Sprout Foods baby food is a gourmet baby food company. Sprout Foods baby food is an organic, shelf stable delicious baby food. It is also gourmet is because Tyler Florence from the Food Network created the prepackaged baby foods. I love to watch Food Network so I immediately recognized the name Tyler Florence. I thought that it was a really cool thing.

The baby food comes in foil resealable packages. The package is big enough to lay flat but not too big that it is too much food for your child. The foil packages are really neat. They are so much safer than glass jars. They also don’t get crushed like the plastic containers. There is a zip top on the actual package so if you don’t use it all you don’t have to worry about accidentally throwing away the lid.

I understand the convenience of the pouch and I really like that. I however didn’t really care for having to put it in a bowl. I hate doing dishes so I avoid it as much as I can. I thought about just letting him eat it out of the package. Then I remembered the banana incident that some of you might remember. I thought it would be way too messy even if I were to feed it to him so I opted for the bowl. So if you were to take it on the road or to a restaurant I recommend bringing a bowl.

There are many different unique flavor combinations that you probably wouldn’t think of like sweet baby carrots, apples and mango also roasted bananas and rice.
The appearance of the Sprout Baby baby food was vibrant colors. I really liked how it wasn’t really runny. Runny baby food is such a mess. So the consistency was great. As for the taste, Noah really liked the Sprout Foods baby food. He would say mmm tastes good. His favorite was the Roasted Banana and Rice. So, it was a hit with our family.

Thank you to Sprout Baby for the opportunity to try some Sprout Foods baby food.

Fairytale Brownies is a gourmet brownie company. They are enchanting brownies with magical flavors. It all started back in kindergarten when Eileen Spitalny and David Kravetz met on the playground and they became friends. David and Eileen decided at an early age that they wanted to share their love of chocolate and brownies with the world. I imagine them playing on the playground while the other kids are making mud pies; David and Eileen were making “brownies”.

In 1992 Fairytale Brownies was born. It all started with two bright eyed kids with a dream and David’s mother’s 50 year old brownie recipe. They started making their divine brownies in a friend’s catering kitchen. Since then they have moved in to a new 26,000-square-foot facility to accommodate the great success of their company.

They now oversee there direct mail order gourmet brownie business. The kitchen might have changed but the basic brownie recipe is still the same. They bake over 2.5 MILLION brownies every year. Fairytale Brownies are made with Belgian chocolate and the finest ingredients. They are all natural and certified Kosher too!

There are 12 flavors of Fairytale Brownies and they come in three different sizes. Fairytale Brownies are 3”x3”. Fairytale Sprites are 3”x1.5”. Both are available in all 12 flavors. The Magic Morsels are 1.5”x1.5” come in 5 flavors including a sugar free Original. The company also makes Fairytale Truffles in 3 different flavors.

I first heard about Fairytale Brownies on Unwrapped which is on the Food Network. I instantly wanted to taste them. I tried to imagine how great they tasted but I couldn't imagine exactly how good they were. So when I had the opportunity to actually try them I was very excited. Fairytale Brownies are so delicious. One bite and you are swept away in to a fairytale. I had to eat them slowly so I could savor every bit. These are without a doubt the best brownies I have ever tasted. I am having trouble putting my feelings about them in words because I do not think a word has been invented yet to describe how truly good Fairytale Brownies really are.

My son loves them as well. He rubbed his little tummy and said Delicious! He kept asking me for some more brownies. I am getting so hungry even thinking about it. I am glad I still have one in my fridge. If I had to pick a favorite flavor I would have to choose the Mint Chocolate. I just love that combination. It reminds me of when I was younger and the special bars my mom and I make at Christmas time. All of the flavors of brownies are wonderful. I have told everyone I can about Fairytale Brownies. I have full confidence that you will love them as much as I do!

You can order them online here and they are available in select retail locations. Check out the website for more information.
