Save money by carpooling to work

If you drive to work, chances are there is someone who works with you that lives close to you. Even if you live farther out you can still find co-workers on your way to and from work. It would also work if your friend or neighbor works in the same office building or shopping center. Taking turns driving is a great idea. Carpooling can help you bond with your co-workers. You have a chance to get to know them better.  You may have a really busy home life where you can't have people over often. Some jobs require you to stay busy and there is not time to chat. You can either have a carpool with one person or three. It just depends on the number of coworkers.  It is also economical. If your carpool group is bigger you may be only driving to and from work once or twice a week. Not only will that save you money on gas but will keep you from putting miles on your car.  Carpooling is good for the environment. You are polluting less and using less gas.

Creating a carpool is really easy. You can email co-workers or put a note in the break room saying you would like to start carpooling. You can ask around about joining an existing car pool. It's important to remember if it is too far away or if it takes a really long time to get there, than it's probably not a good fit for you. It doesn't matter if there is only one person that lives close to you, it still can be effective. You are still saving money and it's better for the environment. If you are really close to work consider walking or riding your bike. I know that's not always feasible though. If you wanted to take turns bringing coffee and/or breakfast for everyone. It doesn't have to be expensive gourmet coffee, just hot and delicious. Another idea is driving to the co-workers house if it's close and driving together. It's always more fun to have someone to chat to on your way to and from work.
