ChapStick Cupcake Creations Review

I wrote about ChapStick® when they premiered their holiday flavors in December. ChapStick® has brand new flavors that I am so excited to tell you about. The new flavors are based on cupcakes. If you know me at all, you know cupcakes are one of my favorite desserts. It's a no-brainer that I would love cupcake ChapStick®. The new flavors are cake batter and red velvet. When I was pregnant with Noah I had a cake flavored lip balm and I loved it. The cake batter ChapStick® is better than that one. Of course I had to give one to Noah because he thinks ChapStick® is awesome. There was an incident with the Cherry one he had where I had to throw it away and he was so sad. He was happy to hear that I was working with ChapStick® again and that he would get a new flavor to try. He really loves the Red Velvet ChapStick® and isn't sad about the cherry one he lost.  Along with the ChapStick® I received a really cool party pack! Complete with party hats, noise makers and Sprinkles Red Velvet Cupcake Mix. We can't wait to have our party courtesy of ChapStick®. I love that ChapStick® keeps making new products. It's my favorite brand of lip balm and that is important especially since I don't wear lipstick. I have to keep my lips hydrated.

Here is some information from ChapStick®:

ChapStick's Holiday Lip Balm Review

Here is a little known fact about me, well if you actually knew me in a face to face setting you would know this, but I never wear lipstick. I just don’t really like it. I think it looks weird on me.  It just doesn’t look right on me.  Thankfully I use Chapstick like it is going out of style.  I don’t like dry chapped lips. I don’t like the color of lipstick and I don’t like using lip gloss because it feels like I have some sort of sauce on my lips.  I have been using ChapStick for many years. One of the things I really wanted when I was in the hospital when I was pregnant with Noah was ChapStick.  The other was pretzels.  I remember when my friend Adrianna pretended to have a ton of makeup when we were in daycare, I found out all she had owned was ChapStick.  I like my lips to be soft and smooth and it doesn’t hurt that ChapStick actually smells good and doesn’t taste horrible.  I am definitely a lifelong fan.  So when I had the opportunity to try out the new holiday flavors I was so excited.

ChapStick is debuting two new limited edition holiday flavors of ChapStick. They are Apple Cider and Chocolate Truffle. You will definitely be hungry for chocolate after using the Chocolate Truffle.  Who doesn’t love the smell of chocolate? I know I love it.  The Apple Cider ChapStick will remind you of those fall days and holidays with family.  I love the smell of apples too. It may be my favorite scent.  Back by popular demand ChapStick has brought back Candy Cane ChapStick. These lip balms even have a convenient gift tag on the back of each package, taking the hassle out of gift wrapping or adding an extra surprise to gift packaging. Forget the boring old gift tags and use a package of ChapStick to label your gifts. If you shop at Target you can also get the special ChapStick tin that features some of the traditional ChapStick flavors like Cherry, Strawberry and Spearmint. It comes with full sized ChapSticks. It would be an awesome stocking stuffer or holiday extra for anyone. The tin is reusable. After you use the ChapStick you can store little things inside the tin. Noah lost his first tooth so now his tooth is in the tin.  I haven’t used all the ChapStick yet but I didn’t want to lose his tooth.

Speaking of Noah, he loves ChapStick. I wasn’t sure if he was going to try it. He thought it was makeup at first but I told him it was just ChapStick. He tried some with my help and stole my cherry ChapStick, ok so I gave it to him but that is my favorite kind. Now Noah wants to use his ChapStick every hour. I have taught him the important lesson about making sure you roll it down all the way before putting the lid on it. Men can definitely use ChapStick and it doesn’t just have to be the black one. Everyone needs soft lips so everyone needs ChapStick.

ChapStick® seasonal varieties are available November 1st in the cough and cold aisle at food, drug and mass retailers for the SRP of $1.01-$1.99. *ChapStick® Chocolate Truffle can be found exclusively at Wal-Mart.

·        To help prevent and temporarily protect chafed, chapped or cracked lips, apply ChapStick®  balm liberally as needed, particularly before sun exposure, dry, cold or wintery conditions. *Consult a doctor before using on a child under 6 months of age.

My Dear Friend Adrianna

I have been blessed with some wonderful people in my life. I wanted to share with you guys about my friend Adrianna. Adrianna and I met when we were in daycare. Yes, that was a long time ago. I haven’t seen her in forever but we had so much fun playing together. I am thankful for Facebook that we are able to still stay in touch now that she is so far away. Adrianna and I always had the craziest ideas. I am not sure which one of us were the brains in the operation, I think that we were both equally responsible for the hair brained ideas we came up with. I remember when we were in daycare, Adrianna told me that she had an elevator in her house and a ton of makeup. Being a young girl I thought that was so cool. Then I went to Adrianna’s house and come to find out the elevator was just a cubby hole in the wall and didn’t move. I know I tried to find the button and her makeup collection consisted of one tube of chapstick, not even lipstick, but chapstick.

We also had a slew of nicknames for each other including Louie and Olive and at one point Squeaky and Frenchy. I remember the reasoning behind Olive and Louie because it was from our middle names but not clue about Squeaky and Frenchie. Throughout the years we had done singing contests, survived the getting lost in the woods in her neighborhood, gone on many adventures and even became sumo wrestlers. One of us, not sure whose idea it was, probably mine because I am weird like that, decided it would be fun to stick pillows under our shirts and tuck them in our pants and fight like sumo wrestlers. So, we would run in to each other full force and bump each other with our pillow bodies. This was long before the days of sumo suits. It was a lot of fun until….she had an asthma attack. I knew she had asthma but this one was a bad attack. We were both sobbing because we were so scared because her inhaler wasn’t working right. Thankfully she ended up being fine. We both decided that we couldn’t play sumo wrestlers anymore and it was pretty dangerous not only could we get hurt but crashing in to each other is a bad idea when someone has asthma.

We must have spent hundreds of nights together giggling at each other’s houses. We even had what we called Pippi Longstocking Day but that is a whole other post because it is a long story. Don’t ask me how many times we played Mall Madness and Party Mania because I couldn’t even tell you. I remember how we used to play bar, of course it was all pretend and didn’t even know what we were talking about. We weren’t really allowed to do it but we did anyways when no one was in the basement. Her dad used to work for RCA and I was invited to some of the events. I used to go to church with her sometimes when I spent the night on Saturday nights. I was very close to her family and she was close to mine. We had a very loving friendship but like any young girls we had our share of fights. We always seemed to make up and it was like the fight never happened we would never hold grudges and forgave whole heartedly. We used to play the gotcha game. One of us would ask if the other could spend the night and if the answer was yes the answer told was occasionally no followed by gotcha. We never said yes if the answer was no though because that was just mean.

I am so glad that I met Adrianna at La Petite so many years ago. She is a very special person and friend and I hold all of our memories together in my heart. I hope sometime we can see each other again. I would love to see her family again too. They are such great people and miss them all.
