Personal Creations Review

I had the opportunity to check out the website PersonalCreations.com they have all kinds of gifts for everyone. I think it is really cool because almost everything can be personalized. When I think about reading catalogs when I was a girl the store would offer to personalize it, for a ridiculous fee. I like that Personal Creations will not only personalize almost everything but they will do it for free.  I think that personalization gives it a special touch. My son is a kindergartener so things with his name on it are really cool to him.  I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to review.  They had  personalized Christmas ornaments, toys, jewelry, home items and so much more. There are so many things I want from Personal Creations.  Once I made my choice ordering on the site was very easy!  It wasn’t a long and drawn out process it took me a couple minutes to check out.

I received the LEGO Flashlight for Noah. It is so cute. It is a big LEGO man with his name on it. He will absolutely love it. I can’t wait to see his face when he sees it. He is a huge LEGO fan and he likes flashlights. He has a Thomas one but now that he is six years old he has definitely outgrown Thomas.  I also ordered an ornament for our Christmas tree. Noah loves to fish. He likes to fish with me but he also likes to fish with his uncle Mike they have guy time.  The ornament says Fishing Buddies and they both have fish and their hats say Noah and Mike. It is so cute.  As I have mentioned before our Christmas tree is full of ornaments from the past and each has a story. Now for years to come Noah’s fishing ornament will remind us both of how he loves to fish with his uncle Mike.  It will also be special for Mike because Noah and he are very close.  Everything came in great condition and I can’t wait to hang the ornament and see Noah’s face when he has his flashlight.

I was given the chance to receive a gift card from Personal Creations to facilitate my review.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I Love Cats!

As many of you know I am a cat person. When I was in 6th grade my sister and I both got kittens. We have had the same cats for many years. We lost Lucy this January but Lexy is still hanging around. She is such a great cat and she loves to eat her cat food. Now that she is 19 years old she has to eat adult cat food.  I think that the cat food you feed your cat is important for Adult Cat Health. She is very picky about her food and water. There can not be anything in her water and her food can't be wet or she turns up her little nose at it. The other day I was making cookies for Noah's class picnic and spilled water everywhere while cleaning up. I even had water in her food dish and I had to dump it out and dry it before ms Lexy would even sniff it. I have made it Noah's job to feed Lexy and make sure she has fresh clean water. She has always been a grazer and just eats whenever she is hungry.

When I was in high school, there were some cats that lived under our deck. I never did figure out where they can from. They weren't there when we bought the house. Being a loving cat family we made sure they always had cat food and water to drink.  We made sure we fed them cat food that would help their adult cat health because they were outside cats. It was kind of tricky in the winter living in Indiana though. They became our street cats because everyone fed them. In the spring they always had kittens. We didn't touch them or let them inside because of our cats. People ended up taking them in to their homes and loving them. We loved them too. I have always loved cats and used to collect cat things. I had porcelain cats and stuffed cats. I am not really a dog person. Although I want a pug. We have many neighbors with dogs. I hope they are using an anti-allergy pet shampoo because pet allergies are very common. It is very hard to avoid dogs when you are outside here.

Are you a cat person or a dog person?

Our Unique and Beautiful Christmas Tree

It’s no secret that Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love everything about Christmas from making our traditional goodies to caroling to decorating our house.  Our house is a combination of old items from my childhood I received for Christmas such as my Lamb chop Angel to newer things that we have purchased throughout the years. Most people decorate a Christmas tree. I have seen beautiful trees that are perfectly color coordinated to match their décor. I have also seen trees that have all matching ornaments with colored balls and bows. All of those trees are beautiful of course but I personally love our Christmas tree the best. We always have a real tree that we buy each year. Everyone in my family loves the smell of fresh Christmas trees.  Decorating it is always a family affair.  Our ornaments are not the same, they don’t match the décor, but they are ones we have had for years.

With every ornament we place on the tree, there is a story and a memory. I like to look at them and remember when we got it and why.  Some of them are ones my sister and I got when we were born. We used to try and place ours higher than the other.  Others we made when we were very young like the star ones we made with glitter on them.  We have ornaments that were gifts from friends and teachers.

When I was in 7th grade, we did secret Santa, and I got an ornament that was made out of a dog biscuit. I remember how upset I was because I thought I was being called a dog. I didn’t particularly like the girl who gave it to me, but I think our homeroom teacher did that on purpose, maybe to make us become friends. It didn’t really work. I still have the ornament and it is still on my tree every year.  We have beach themed ornaments. I got my mom an angel made out of seashells in the Bahamas that now goes on our tree.  I also have Noah’s first Christmas ornaments and a frame of him and me as a baby.  My mom made some stuffed ornaments when I was a baby that always goes on the bottom of our tree.  I love that we have a variety of Christmas tree decorations vs. a standard tree with meaningless ornaments.  When I look at them I remember all the Christmases of the past. Decorating the tree while my Grandma Rose was there, dancing around wearing the Christmas tree skirt and all the happy memories each Christmas brings.

How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
