THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED!!!!
I love to travel. When I travel, I like to stay in Marriott Hotels. I like Marriott because they are always clean and friendly and I know when I stay at one the service will be wonderful. They have quite a few braches of hotels. A few of them are Courtyard,Residence Inn and Spring Hill Suites. There is a Courtyard Inn in Macon Georgia I have stayed at more times than I can count. Growing up it was always our stopping point for the night when we were going to Florida.
My friend and I took a trip to Macon and I recommended that we stay at that same Courtyard. There is a really nice Residence Inn in Virginia Beach that is amazing. I really liked staying there and hearing the ocean as I fell asleep and the ocean view was great. I have also stayed at Spring Hill Suites. They are as impressive. I love Marriott Hotels and I stay at one anytime possible. Not to mention my whole family are members of the Marriott rewards club. If you aren’t a member I suggest you sign up. It’s free and you can earn free hotel nights.
I have some really exciting news to share with you all. First here is a letter from Marriott Hotels.
At Marriott, we’re always looking for ways to serve our guests better. That’s why the new Marriott was developed through a two-way dialogue between Marriott and thousands of our customers. The results? Search front and center. Improved navigation. A more modern and elegant look and feel. And, of course, enhanced functionality overall.
It just goes to show that only good things can happen when a huge organization like ours takes the time to listen to our individual guests to find out how to better serve them. They helped us create something better. It’s also the reason why we’re calling our new campaign, “You asked. We delivered.”
To celebrate the re-design and get the word out, we’re running a promotion that gives Sheilacakes visitors a chance to win a $100 Marriott TravelCard. Entering is easy, just watch the video below and share your thoughts with Marriott in the comment section. On Tuesday, December 8th, Marriott will select five lucky winners at random from my comments.
That’s right FIVE (5) of you are going to win a $100 Marriott TravelCard Gift Card for being a reader of my blog!
All you have to do is watch the video above and leave a comment sharing your thoughts with Marriott on this post.
One (1) entry per email address, per comment specifically relating to the posted video (any posts not relating to the video, as determined by Sponsor, Sweepstakes Administrator, and/or the Sweepstakes Blog in their sole discretion, will not count towards an entry) You must leave your email address in your comment. I am not picking the winners and I want it to be easy for the folks at Marriott to contact the winners.
Sweepstakes ends next Monday December 7,2009 at 11:59:59 P.M. ET. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Open only to legal residents of 50 US (incl. D.C., excluding Puerto Rico). The winners must be 19 or older and 21 in Mississippi. See Sweepstakes Rules & Regulations for details.
I would like to thank Marriott for providing the five travelcards for my giveaway. I received nothing for this post.
To learn more about the new design and to enter for a chance to win one of three $250 Marriott TravelCards and the Grand Prize of a 7-night vacation (plus $1,500 for travel expenses) visit MarriottDelivers.
I would love to win!
ReplyDeleteFrom all the images at the end of the video, Marriott looks like a nice place for me to relax. I need a night away!
ReplyDeleteBrandy [at] notsoaveragemama [dot] com
I'm not really sure what the solar coffee cup thing had to do with the hotel but from the photos it looks very relaxing and clean.
ReplyDelete3kidsnus@gmail.com
The images of the hotel, from the video, are spectacular! Marriot hotels looks very welcoming, clean and relaxing!
ReplyDeletemomof3shops(at)gmail(dot)com
Whoever did the redesign should be congratulated it looks lovely
ReplyDeleteThe Marriott looks like they've updated their places
ReplyDeletedroopydog63@hotmail.com
The video makes Marriott's look modern, warm, inviting, and entertaining. It's everything I look for in a place to stay.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

Wow- I sure could use a night away- this would be perfect!! The re-design looks very nice and inviting!
ReplyDeletemolly dot stump at gmail dot com
I love the Marriott, but I don't really get this commercial and what they're trying to say about connecting the invention with their website. I just find it confusing.
ReplyDeletecarmensechristjunk at gmail dot com
I like any commercial that pushes the edge of creativity. I'm tired of boring commercials. This makes me interested in Marriott.
ReplyDeleteI like what Marriott is trying to do with creating an advertising theme. This is similar to their Mona Lisa ad. It's quirky and different.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of the hotel look great.
mami2jcn at gmail dot com
Um, just a little strange don't you think? Anyway, solar powered coffee cup aside - I LOVE Marriott hotels and it's looks like they're doing a bit of updating and refreshing. YAY.
ReplyDeleteDidn't quite get the ad, but love to stay at the Marriott. Can't beat it for price, comfort, service and quality - Marriott has the most comfy beds!!
ReplyDeletereleep@gmail.com
Ahh, a babymoon at marriott is just what i need
ReplyDeleteWow! Marriott has changed since I've last stayed there. How nice.
ReplyDeleteThis is so generous of Marriott, so first off thanks for offering this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'm not to sure what this commercial is suppose to mean. I don't see any relation between the inventor and Marriott. I do however, love all the photo's of Marriott being shown.
Thanks so much.
rickpeggysmith(at)aol(dot)com
I guess I'm not a big fan of this commercial - don't really see the connection!
ReplyDeleteI may be in the minority? The vid clip made me laugh a little. Very random.
ReplyDeleteWould LOVE to win!
emilyangehr (at) gmail (dot)com
Definetly a great commercial...Loved the pictures that show the updates!! Could have shown more though!! Oh I could so use this giftcard!!! i need a vaca even if its only for a night!!! :)
ReplyDeletelacey.mcmanus@yahoo.com
Coffee. Marriott? Marriott. Coffee? Maybe the guy just needs to get away for a bit? Ok, so most of the video seems a bit irrelevant to me, but man, I love the shots of the hotel itself. Would LOVE to stay there.
ReplyDeleteI was a little confused but the Marriott looks very relaxing and inviting.
ReplyDeleteThe new image of Marriott is great. Interesting campaign.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE Marriott! My husband travels a few times a week for work and he always stays in MArriott hotels. For Christmas, we stay at the Marriott in Times Square in NYC with the kids and they are always so nice. When we stay at any of the Marriott hotels with the kids they are always so nice and bring us extra snacks and water bottles and paper notepads for them to draw. I had started to notice over this last summer that a lot of the locations were updated and renovated and they look really fancy! They are reasonable and affordable and now look even better!

ReplyDeleteI am not certain I understood the solar coffee cup idea...but did understand the idea of the website. I liked the music and pics of Marriott.

I dont think this is a great commercial. They should of just left out the solar cofee cup idea out and just shown the hotel.
ReplyDeletehoneybeez80@yahoo.com
I like the fun and inventive commercial idea! Plus, Marriott looks great - relaxing and laidback.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway :)

What a cute commercial. it looks great, I'd love to check it out in person.

lauren51990 AT aol DOT com
Marriotts are wonderful. The beginning with the solar powered coffee cup doesn't really have anything to do with it, so I'm confused. lol Anyway, thanks for this contest. I could use time away, maybe then I'll understand the commercial. hehe
ReplyDeleteshannon (at) potamusprefers (dot) com
I've seen a few of these commercials, and every one leaves me with the thought "what does this have to do with Marriot and a website associated with it?"
ReplyDeleteI wish that there were more strong arguments, information in the commercial. I'm not easily swayed by this kind of thing, and these commercials just seem out to interest you without giving you anything to hang your hat on.
I'm not a fan, sorry.
I'm enjoying these new videos because they are short and simple. Although they don't throw Marriott in your face, they don't make me rush to click away... the same can't be said for a lot of commercials these days.
ReplyDeleteWow! The Marriott looks AMAZING and I can't even begin to tell you how much I would LOVE and NEED to spend a night there! Haven't spent a night away from my kids in TWO and a HALF YEARS! YES you heard me right..... TWO and a HALF YEARS! I desperately need a vacation!!
ReplyDeletelove the intro, and then like a snowball effect it gets bigger and better. I would love to stay there again for xmas with my fiancee planning on popping the big question when we go ice skating. this would def. help my chances of her saying yes. x's fingers
ReplyDeleteposeidon.cr@gmail.com
To me it looks clean and cozy. Totally someplace I would enjoy staying.
ReplyDeletepinkrose6784@hotmail.com
The images of the hotel were definitely eye-catching, especially the one of the pool (my favorite part of any hotel)!
ReplyDeletemeredith.hellen@gmail.com
I really don't get these commercials, they really do nothing to make me want to book at a Marriot over another hotel, although I do have to say that the solar powered coffee stirrer was a cute idea
ReplyDeletesingermagic1(at)yahoo(dot)com

ReplyDeletesingermagic1(at)yahoo(dot)com
Well I really didn't care for the video. I really didn't make the connection between Marriot an a solar coffee stirrer
ReplyDeleteI always stay at Marriott, we even stayed at one in Costa Rica! The commercial shows that marriott is modern and fun!
ReplyDeleteWatching this made me want to get away from it all and stay at the Marriott!
ReplyDeletesmchester at gmail dot com
Man, I want to dive in to one of those gorgeous sparkling swimming pools and then flop onto one of those comfy looking beds shown in the video! We've always been fans of Marriott but now I'm really looking forward to our next visit so I can see what's new.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
Wow, the rooms look amazing, very comfortable.
ReplyDeletejerseygirl137(at)yahoo.com
I think it is good they are marketing to business travelers and as meeting space. Even points to start-up type situation which usually needs money so may be more cost effective to hold your groups at Marriott.
ReplyDeletetvollowitz at aol dot com
We have always had great experiences staying at Marriots, hope to plan another stay real soon!
ReplyDeletelgrieser(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
Marriot's have the best beds! If I win this I would definitely book a trip!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Marriott has done a lot of updating.
ReplyDeleteWell, from the photos of the new hotels it looks absolutely amazing. I would guess that is technology friendly from the commercial and that is a plus!!! What an amazing adventure to stya at one of those locations and be ab;e to have everything you need at hand. misselj@ymail.com
ReplyDeleteI love Marriott. You earn extra nights fast. I stayed just a few times and got a free stay. They are always upscale and clean. Nice video.
ReplyDeleteshawnky@cox.net
The images look so spectacular and relaxing . I wish I could win a night!!
ReplyDeleteVery creative job Marriott.
ReplyDeleteI love these new ads. I saw another with Mona Lisa, which was also very entertaining.
ReplyDeletejkalstrup@unomaha.edu
I love these new ads. I saw another with Mona Lisa, which was also very entertaining.
ReplyDeletejkalstrup@unomaha.edu
What a great prize!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that I really understood the beginning part with the inventor but I think the images of the hotels make it seem like there is something wonderful for everyone at Marriot.
ReplyDeleteWe have stayed at Marriot before and I felt so spoiled. I love it. Not sure about the ad, but Marriot seems modern and inviting to me!
ReplyDeleteThe images of the hotel are gorgeous and from personal experience I LOVE the Marriott; however, I have the same problem with this commercial as I do with the "Suitor" commercial and the "Mona Lisa" commercial - lack of relevance. Sure, after reading other comments I realize that perhaps the commercial is aimed at promoting business space but without that prior tidbit of information the commercial seems to have no relevance at all, in fact it seems like two different commercials at once. Watching this on the TV I would be inclined to think that the first commercial with an inventor got cut off by a Marriott commercial. I am a little bewildered by the new line of Marriott commercials to be honest, love the hotel chain but I feel that perhaps a new marketing company is called for.
ReplyDeleteamysweepstake at yahoo.com
This looks like a great commercial! The remodel looks amazing! I love staying at Marriott! It's a wonderful place! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletecoolnatty12 at yahoo dot com
I don't really understand the commercial, but I've stayed at quite a few Marriotts and they are great hotels!
ReplyDeleteeeg224 at mac dot com
I love the slightly quirky direction they are taking with this commercial. It makes me want to stay there over other places!
ReplyDeleteferriza2 at yahoo dot com
I like the actor in this one. He looks genuinely interested in "his invention" and sincere about his search. I still prefer the Mona Lisa one, but this one is certainly better, in my opinion, than the "lover boy" commercial.
ReplyDeleteI really love the way they are redesigning the Marriot - they have always been top notch - but not sure what the solar coffee thingy is.
ReplyDeletei think Marriott needs to work another angle, that commercial lost me at the beginning.
ReplyDeleteI love the design and how clean and relaxing Marriot looks.I need a vacation and would love to give them a try.I like the commerical.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway:)
kats7960@gmail.com
Having seen all 3 commercials now, the Mona Lisa one is my favorite. The new Marriott.com website does look informative and easy to navigate.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the previous poster, I like the Mona Lisa commerical the best. This commerical isn't very interesting. However, the images right at the end do make me want to stay at Marriott!
ReplyDeletemscoffee77(AT)juno(DOT)com
Hmm, a little weird, I would have liked to see more of the new Marriot pictures. Either way I know Marriot is a great place to stay!
ReplyDeletepettibone01@msn.com
The commercial is cute and kept my attention! I wish it was maybe a 45 second commercial and the guy came back at the end and tied it all together.
ReplyDeleteBloggytime20 at yahoo dot com
I'm with the rest of you. I don't really see how solar powered coffee and Marriots hotels go together but my hubby and I could use a night away.
ReplyDeleteThe commercial makes no sense to me, but I love the Marriott. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeletemogrill@comcast.net
What does a solar powered coffee stirrer have to do with Marriott? Strange commercial, but I thought the pics looked nice of the hotels. Thanks!
ReplyDeletesphinxcw at aol dot com
I don't quite understand the coffee stirrer thing, but I have stayed at Marriott hotels before and they are wonderful.
ReplyDeletemarcia.goss@gmail.com
The new marriot rooms look great. I would like to stay thier some time soon.
ReplyDeleteI thought the inventor himself was kind of cute.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what the guy with the coffee has to do with the hotel, but at least it is better than the sappy guy that wants to get married.
ReplyDeleteI think the Marriott brand is strong enough without alor of viral type marketing. Stick to the point..a good place to call home ( for a little while). That is the message they should focus on!
ReplyDeletemadamerkf at aol dot com
Marriott looks like a nice respectable hotel
ReplyDeleteWow, they have some beautiful hotels. I haven't stayed in a Marriott in a long time and didn't realize how nice they are.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I've ever thought of Marriott as an upscale hotel brand, but looking at the rooms and whatnot from the video, I can kind of see that they're trying to class the place up a bit. I really like that. So if they stay affordable and build up their atmosphere that would be great.
ReplyDeleteferret0903@aol.com
Marriott appears to have something for everyone! I love the Marriott chain. Always reliable and has good service...guess that's the "you asked for it-we deliverd" and I like the spiffy new look too.
ReplyDeleteI find the fellow likeable enough- or maybe I just realized it's 9:02 a.m. & I've not had coffee yet- solar-powered or otherwise! Those are a lot of hotel properties- literally anywhere you'd want to go.
ReplyDeleteI keep bumping into Marriott everywhere it seems- I think they actually get social media! They've got their name on my brain for sure!
We're going to California in the spring & I'd love to stay at the JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square! The view looks amazing- the website makes you feel as if you are standing right there already- no surprises!
The City is on the expensive side so a giftcard would be a little cherry on top! :D
velvet_days aht macdotcom
I quite honestly didn't understand the commercial and didn't understand the connection between the beginning and the end.
ReplyDeleteprincesslimey (at) gmail . com
The facilities look beautiful - someplace I'd love to stay. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI don't really understand the point of the commercial, but the Marriott facilities look very inviting.
ReplyDeleteleslieprice79@gmail.com
It makes me want to go to their website to see what's available for my next vacation.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why Marriott didn't include this item in their makeover of their hotels...
ReplyDeleteSolar coffee cup?..Hey, it's all good. I would love to stay at Marriott during my spring vacation.
ReplyDeleteI like that Marriott is listening to what customers want and implementing that as well as making that policy known so customers continue voicing what they want. Commercial is creative too. utgal2004[at]yahoo[dot]com
ReplyDeleteThis video is really clever! I like that Marriott is responding to their customer's requests... no matter how quirky the customer!
ReplyDeletehoney2mommy(at)gmail (d0t)com
I found the video to be creative and short and to the point! I actually LOVE staying at Marriot when I travel!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!!
It looks like they've done quite a redesign, because the new views of interiors look totally modern and amazing!
ReplyDeletersbryswrrl at gmail dot com
Now that video made me want a fun vacation! I love how clean (which is REALLY important when looking for a hotel) and relaxing it looks. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeletechericehodges@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteamy16323(at)gmail(dot)com
The video really captures how nice the place is. It looks like a great get away!
ReplyDeletehapppeejackee at gmail dot com
While the hotel looks great I didn't care for the actual spot itself.
ReplyDeleteThat is a strange ad campaign, but I so love the hotel and can really put a gift card to use! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeletenowhere near as good as the mona lisa
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others, strange campaign. This would be perfect for my anniversary next month!!
ReplyDeletejaimeburgess@hotmail.com
The solar powered coffee cup thing will get people's attention, but really doesn't do anything to promote the hotel. I do enjoy watching offbeat ads, but I'm afraid it doesn't give me a positive, lasting impression of Marriott--just the ad. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteThe ad is a bit outside the box, but Marriott is a well-established and trusted brand in the hospitality industry, so the ad has done little to change my overall impression of the corporation other than they are currently running an offbeat ad campaign.
ReplyDeleteashaldridge (at) gmail (dot) com
It is strange but I like it just the same. Marriot rocks!
ReplyDeleteJeanette Huston
chewysmum79@yahoo.com
Marriott's youtube ads are really odd and random. I saw another recently with a guy who had photos of his girlfriend all over his room and he was trying to get her to say yes to his wedding proposal, I think. I guess they are memorable but still very odd.
ReplyDeleteumichalum08[at]gmail[dot]com
I think it's a bit weird, but the hotel looks nice!
ReplyDeleteI never knew Marriot is located throughout 67 countries! The pictures also make Marriot look classy, comforting and welcoming.
ReplyDeleteIt actually made me want to see the new website too!
I liked the short but sweet video.
-Thanks
panicxduh@yahoo.com
Here's what bugs me: Marriott is SO much better than this commercial!! Seriously the best hotel chain out there, and they really ought to market to families as much as they market to corporate (they mention meeting rooms, use a dude with a coffee cup...). I'm disappointed with this commercial, but we remain (as we have for MANY years) a loyal Marriott family.
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest: I don't get this ad. On the other hand, I am a fan of Marriott. It is always a pleasant stay.
ReplyDeleteI understand the video to mean that the inventors passion for his idea equates to Marriotts passion for their brand.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway Marriott!
joy-productions (at) earthlink (dot) net
What? That made no sense. Solar powered coffee stirrer? Does it come with the room?
ReplyDeleteI think the meaning is 2 things:
ReplyDelete1)Marriotts helps their visitors connect to the world
2)There a room for everyone, " even that guy"
mccullar07@yahoo.com
I love Marriott. The new commercials are kind of funny. The guy in this one reminds me of Leslie Nielson from The Naked Gun.
ReplyDeleteI like how the Marriott is marketing themselves as the "new" Marriott. It gives a sense of freshness to the brand, a quality well desired in a hotel. I like how the website is featured prominently on the commercial. The viewer knows exactly where to go to learn more about the new features. I think the Marriott is a great, clean, well-trusted choice for a hotel. Thanks for the contest! codisweepstakes2 (at) gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThe commercial is cute and informative. Our family has always enjoyed staying at Marriott hotels in our travels and after seeing the new Marriott design in the commercial I think we will enjoy Marriott properties even more.
ReplyDeleteThe Marriott looks very classy!
ReplyDeleteAfter watching the video - I did not get the comment about the coffee cup - I guess I'm slow this morning! Anyway, the pics are awesome and the pool looks fun!
ReplyDeleteI'd LOVE to win!!!

Marriott is always clean and affordable. Nice lobby too.
ReplyDeleteHellrzr(at)juno(dot)com
A solar coffee maker would be fun. Sounds like Marriott has really upped the anti on fine lodging. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMarriott is a great chain - all of their brands offer clean and comfortable accommodations with exceptional staffers to help you.
ReplyDeleteWe have always loved Marriott and it is our choice of places when we stay in Niagara Falls, nice to see the company taking change for the consumer..
ReplyDeleteTom Shewbridge
medictom@gmail.com
I do not understand what the coffee stirrer has to do with Marriott. The man says he needs a website not a conference room or hotel. I don't get it. The second half of the commercial was better.
ReplyDeletepamelaschmidt at tds dot net
Video leaves me thinking bright, clean and refreshing. Solar coffee gadget leaves me thinking What??
ReplyDeleteDidnt care for the commercial
ReplyDeleteEvery commercial needs a gimmick, or catchy phrase or scene, and this one delivers! Hats off to Marriott for having such a great ad team. I especially enjoy the Springhill Suites, they are so modern, yet like home away from home.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
lizzydearslife@gmail.com
I like this ad. There's a minimal amount of fluff up front and then a quick overview of Marriott. Short and sweet.
ReplyDeleteThis one is better than the "marriage proposal" one.. They both have beautiful photo's of Marriott and make it look very inviting!
ReplyDeleteThe Marriott parts make it look very clean, comfortable, and inviting. The inventor stuff...I didn't get it at all!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, jennem22 at yahoo dot com
It doesn't look like a hotel ad.
ReplyDeletethe commercial didnt really run parallel to what he was asking. He said "I need a website to....my solar powered coffee maker...". If he said something along the lines of "I need a place to convince investors to invest in my....." then it would of made more sense. The commercial itself looked fine, but I can see why some would not understand the ad.
ReplyDeletenontansto@gmail.com
The economy being what it is, I would totally love to just get away from it all for a day or two. No noisy neighbors, no mail, no messy house. Just stay at the Marriott thats a few blocks away and relax with nothing to do for a weekend. I believe those little respits are called a staycation, and I need one now dangnabit! You should be able to tell because I'm saying things like 'dangnabit!'
ReplyDeleteThey lost me on that commercial. I didn't understand what it had to do with Marriott. I loved the pictures though. As for the commercial, I like their Mona Lisa one the best.
ReplyDeletemail@melodicmom.com
The ad's a little hard to understand with the whole solar powered coffee maker, but the hotel sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteshawnac68@hotmail.com
The clip is not straight forward enough. I think he was saying with a good website he could get his invention off the ground, and then they showed a good website (Marriott's.)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I really get the commercial, but the new beds look super comfy
ReplyDeleteI like the quirkiness of the video. It was funny but maybe a more blatant link about the hotel and conventions would have been a little better.
ReplyDeletebeckysweeps13 at gmail dot com
I haven't been to the Marriott in years and this ad made me very anxious to return.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity!
I would love to win this because like the man in the video clip i have my own ideas and i want a chance to try them out and my ideas involve a road trip!
ReplyDelete9 brands, 3300 locations and 67 countries, now that's choice! I've been a Marriott Rewards member for nearly 20 years!
ReplyDeleteThe beginning of the video is too slow... I like the coffee idea, but make it quick. Then get to the fast paced stuff!
ReplyDeletespeechforme at gmail
I like the images but I just don't get the commercial, the coffee idea is cute but I don't see how it makes me want to stay at a marriott
ReplyDeletesingermagic1(at)yahoo(dot)com
Oooh a solar powered self stirring coffee cup. Sweet.
ReplyDeleteThe hotel pics look gorgeous.

I'm a bit confused by what a coffee cup has to do with Marriot and the website but it does grab my attention. I love the images from the commercial.
ReplyDeleteag1414@hotmail.com
I would stop and pay attention to this commercial especially since I don't get the correlation between the first and second half of the commercial. I really like the second half.
ReplyDeletearicanden@hotmail.com
The commercial makes Marriott look like a place I'd love to stay at. Thanks!
ReplyDeletepjgirl74 at aol dot com
Its a slight;y strange commercial, but I love the Marriott and always use their hotels when I'm on vacation, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHotsnotty2@hotmail.com
I need one of those coffee stirrers ...I'm so lazy in the mornings that this would help!! thanks to both you and Marriot for giveaway!
ReplyDeletekessandcrystal@aol.com
If only my basement studio could look like Marriot's roomy perfection!!
ReplyDeleteclpayne@liberty.edu
The beginning of the commercial is like a Zen koan. :) And then, what better to follow than pictures of delightful, comfortable Marriot hotels, where peace and relaxation seem status quo? It made me daydream about my next vacation!!
ReplyDeletejaylee33 at gmail dot com
i dont get how his cup is related to Marriot? intime@myself.com
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Marriott but the commercial is sort of weird!
ReplyDeleteI've always liked the Marriott and am excited to see their new, modern updates.
ReplyDeletekirbycolby at gmail dot com
Thank you!
I would love to stay at a Marriot hotel. The video of the solar coffee mug is showing how you really reach out to everyone. Thankyou :)
ReplyDeleteIt took me a second to understand the connection between the inventor and the hotel, but once I saw the images of the meeting rooms, it clicked in -- and I think that bit of thinking I had to do made the commercial more memorable (if a little on the offbeat side!). The redesign looks terrific, and I like the quirkiness of these ads!
ReplyDeletegkaufmanss@yahoo.com
I absolutely love the concept of the "You asked. We delivered" campaign. I think it's great the a large well-known company actually listened to it's patrons, and sought a new image based on what real people wanted. I though the commercial was clever and a bit quirky, and I love the look of the new design!
ReplyDeleteclctaube @ yahoo.com
Love the slogan!! Very cute!! Boy could I use this card. We travel with the kids sports and it would be nice to be able to stay in a top of the line hotel for once!
ReplyDeletethe photos look very inviting .as i travel a lot could use this
ReplyDeleteThis commercial is not as clear as the others I've seen, the Mona Lisa girl and the obsessed boyfriend.

Well, I don't think the solar powered coffee cup will work but I like the hotel pictures and would love to win!
ReplyDeletespencer1953 at gmail dot com.
Unfortunetly for the good folks at Marriott, this commercial is somewhat of a mess.
ReplyDeleteThe focal point should be the hotels and their ammenities but after seeing the first half of the commercial, all I was thinking about was what does this guy have to do with their great hotels and by the time I realized it was a hotel commercial, it was over.
I missed out on the great photos of the hotels, the guest rooms, meeting rooms, pool, lounge areas and such by my mind wandering elsewhere and not being focused on the product being sold to me.
I also felt the photos were "rushed" when they were being viewed which could have been avoided had they not focused on the guy in the beginning so much.
titletowntreasures(AT)yahoo(DOT)com
I really liked the commercial, it was very different although it didn't really tie Marriot in to the invention part. I would have been great to tie the invention in to a convention at Marriot. It should be a bit more focused as a lot of people would be sitting there wondering what just happened.
ReplyDeleteI totally don't get the commercial. I feel like this is a commercial I'd have to think about for awhile to "get", honestly I don't think anyone wants to take the time to do that. With all the stress a lot of people are under later I don't think this commercial has the correct tone. Its just too confusing. Then again, I'm not really the target audience (I'm a full time student doing part time work in the heath field). Nevertheless I do like Marriott!

The beginning with the solar powered stirring coffee cup was a little strange but I loved the photos of the hotels. Great redesign!

Seems as if Marriot is really trying to hook the business traveler and those looking to hold conferences and so forth. I found the spot cute and will definitely appeal to small businesses!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the chance to win!
Okay I think that Marriot is focusing on business people, however, this commercial seemed a bit ineffective in my opinion. The pictures they showed at the end looked really nice, but what does "I need a website" have anything to do with it? I'm confused. But I'd certainly continue staying at Marriots. LOL

I don't quite get the commercial but I do love that it makes me think and remember the name. Now if I hear something about a solar power coffee stirrer cup I will immediately think of the Marriott. I also like that the pictures of the hotel give the impression it is a clean, inviting place that anyone would love to stay at! It's an ad that will stick with me for sure. thanks so much for the giveaway!

i didnt make the connection between teh hoteland the coffee cup but the images of the hotel shows that its up to date and would be anice place to stay.
ReplyDeleteI love Marriott! The redesign has been wonderful and I had a chance to stay at one of their Renaissance properties over Thanksgiving weekend and it was fantastic. They live up to the standard their ads portray!

Would love to win this!!
ReplyDeleteI think that the video is cute, but I actually would have preferred a more standard commercial which highlighted the brand and showed the Marriott the entire time. My all-time favorite hotels are the Residence Inns!
ReplyDeleteThe commercial is missing the link between two neat concepts: Solar powered invention needing a web site -- neat green hip -- and marriott delivers -- nice place to stay and do business.
ReplyDeleteI think the beginning with the man wanting to find a way to get people in infest in his Solar self stirring coffee cup is funny but it's a little confusing to understand the link between that and Marriott from the rest of the commercial.

I usually think of Marriott as a business chain, so this is just a funny reminder of that. Nice.
ReplyDeleteMarriott has always been my fav - so plush :)

I don't think this commercial is that great because it doesn't really make me think that it's a Marriot commercial.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very quirky and original video. so cute.
ReplyDeleteI love spending nights at the marriotte but it can be pricey. I do like the commercial though. It would be a great gift to give to my parents since they travel a lot.

I liked it and checked out the website
ReplyDeleteI love Marriott, but admit that I'm not sure the connection between the man and Marriott is very logical, so I'm still not a fan of the commercial. Thanks so much! pamelashockley(AT)netscape(DOT)net
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are long-time Marriott customers and we love their resorts. The commercial shows how Marriott has updated their look.

The music in "The Inventor" video is catchy & the second part highlights the new website. I'm just not real sure how the inventor ties in with Marriott. Thanks!

The dude was a bit odd, but the commercial definitely caught my attention and made me laugh! I love Marriott hotels! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's catchy!
