My Favorite Holiday Traditions #HickoryTraditions

One of my favorite things about Christmas and Thanksgiving is the food. My family loves to bake different cookies and treats. There are ones that we have been making for as long as I can remember and others that are new. We have a peanut blossom recipe from 1982 that we have made every year.  I will only make this one. It is the best.  We also like to make different snack trays and just enjoy the food and each other’s company. For Christmas Eve dinner we have an appetizer buffet full of all the treats we like. It’s fun to cook together and then sit by the fire and eat.  We have many different traditions in our family. Noah and I have started our own traditions as well. We always make something out of gingerbread. Sometimes it’s a house or a train. It just kinda depends on what he wants to do. We also like to watch holiday movies together.

Here's a gingerbread house that we called The Gingerbread Family Christmas featuring Hickory Farms Melt away Mints:

I think of traditions as a way to pass a part of yourself down and honor those who have passed away. My Grandma Rose used to get Hickory Farms at Christmas time. We both enjoyed the Melt away mints together. My Grandma was not a huge candy person like I am, but she sure loved her mints. We would eat starlight mints, melt away mints and dainty mints together. Growing up, I remember the joy of seeing the Hickory Farms kiosk at the mall. It made me so happy because I love so many of their items. It was almost Christmas when I saw the Hickory Farms treats. I still eat mints often and I think of her. Hickory Farms has so many delicious items. I haven’t tried one, I don’t like.  My mom loves the Petit Fours and Noah and I love the Mini Melt away Mints. I got some for Christmas a couple years ago, per my request and Noah ended up eating most of them. I found out Hickory Farms has been at my mall since October 29th! I need to go make a stop for some Mini Melt away Mints and Petit Fours for my mom. Noah would want me to buy them out because he loves them that much.
