I have always loved candles. I used to save the candles from
my birthday cake each year. There's just something warm and inviting about
them. When I was in high school I had a huge candle collection. I still have
many of them packed away because I wouldn't burn them. I had a lot of shaped
candles. I loved the purple set of mushrooms. My most favorite candle was the
penguin candle at my grandparent's house. It wasn't a candle in my mind, it was
a toy. That was the thing I wanted the most when my grandma moved out of her
house.
I still love candles I just burn them more often. I don't have an attachment to the candles I buy today. I burn them for the scent and because they help relax me. My family has a tradition of buying a Christmas candle every year. It's always Christmas tree scented. There are so many different candles on the market. It can be hard to know which ones to buy. Quality is important to me. I tend to stay away from cheaply made candles. Where the candle is made is also important. I like to buy candles that are made in the USA.
I learned about a great candle company called Candlemart by Hanna's. There's a few reasons why it makes me excited. I love the story if Burt Hanna who started making potpourri in his basement in 1987. He was trying to make ends meet in college. He was so great at making potpourri that he moved in to a factory and now makes all kinds of scented candle products. I also really like wax melts. I have five wax melt burners in my house. He has an active role in the process. As a fellow candle maker, I love this.
They now use 20 million pounds of wax a year. That would make 3.2 billion birthday candles. That's enough birthday candles to circle the Earth 6 times. Burt has been a member of the National Candle Association since 1994. In 2011, Burt was presented with the National Candle Association Hall of Fame Award for Special Achievement. That means Burt knows how to make great products.

I also like the scents that are offered. They have Jolly Rancher scented candles and wax melts. I love Jolly Ranchers. I love the smell of them too. I make Jolly Rancher Cotton Candy and my house smells so good afterwards. The only problem I would see is that I would want to eat the candle. I think the candy scented products should come with some candy. They also sell Hershey's scented candles and Twizzlers too.
Some of the candles have AromaBeads in them. The manufacturing process used to make AromaBeads is unique and locks the fragrance in to the beads. It helps you smell the fragrance quicker and longer. Since there's a top layer of poured wax, you won't have to worry about spilling the aroma beads. It also seals them in the candle. The candles are so strong that, I keep an extra in my entertainment center and the whole cabinet smells like a Cherry Jolly Rancher.
All the products are extremely affordable. You can get a Jolly Rancher Candle for $5.99. The candle burns for approximately 40-50 hours. I have easily paid $25 for a candle that size in the past. If you like Wax Melts, Candlemart has two different types. They have the standard wax melts that you can melt in any burner. A package of wax melts is only $1.99. I have paid that much for one wax melt in the past. You could keep a wax melt in your dresser as potpourri. Just make sure it isn't too hot in your home.
They also make Aromabeads Singles, which are little scented melts that you pour in your wax burner. You can get a 1 ounce cup for $1.49. You can choose from 48 different scents. I like to take my electric wax burner with me when I stay in a hotel. I like to have my own scents in the room with me. It makes it safe to use because there's no flame.
There's so many different scents that you can find one for every occasion. I like to change up scents every so often. I know that with Candlemart I can do that without breaking the bank but not sacrificing quality.
