You can go see Winter the dolphin at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Winter is the dolphin whose tail was caught in a crab trap in Clearwater Florida. Winter ultimately lost her tail but now she uses a prosthetic tail. She is able to like any other dolphin. I highly recommend watching A Dolphin Tale before going to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. It will help you understand Winter's story. We watched the movie first and it was more heart warming because you know that you aren't at a normal aquarium but somewhere that is really special. You can see how they help injured sea life. Some of the residents of the aquarium are bottle nosed dolphins, river otters, stingrays and sea turtles. We really enjoyed looking at the animals. Noah loves sea life and I think that it meant more to him because he was able to know the story behind it all. You can see Winter and the other Dolphins perform. There are other special encounters that you can do too.
You also should go to on the tour which is either a trolley ride or a boat ride, both are included with your ticket. We took the boat there and saw wild dolphins from the boat. You can see props and scenes from the movie. I am a huge Morgan Freeman fan so I took many pictures of his chair and anything having to do with his character. You can also walk through a hurricane simulator. That was really cool but I would recommend that if you have small children you go through the child friendly version. We really love the story of Winter and The Clearwater Marine Aquarium. It is a must see place to visit.
