Mealtime can be hectic and messy, when you have kids. I
remember when Noah was first learning to feed himself, it was usually a mess.
Sometimes I wanted to throw down a tarp and be done with it. There is so much that goes in to teaching
your child to eat solids and using a sippy cup. I had a really hard time
getting Noah to use a cup. I bought all kinds of them. I tried the cups that
had a silicone tip and he would just bite it off. He just didn’t want anything to do with it.
There wasn’t really any reward of using a cup. I learned about a company called
JJ Rabbit that has some of your feeding time problems solved. They have a cup
that has an animal attached to the bottom of the cup called Cuppies.
It is a great way to get your child to drink from a cup by playing find the rabbit or penguin. You could even encourage your child to name the animal because it’s their special friend that they only see when their cup is empty. Noah would have probably named it based on what kind of animal it is. I mean really Noah has a turtle pillow pet, and its name is actually Pillow Pet. We had four fish at one point. Their names were Fish, Fishy, Fish Friend and Noah. Cuppies hold 8 ounces of fluid, it’s the perfect size for a kid. Cuppies are also biodegradable and top shelf safe for your dishwasher. I use to hate when I couldn’t put Noah’s dishes in the dishwasher. It made it hard to clean easily.

JJ Rabbit also has SiliMAT. They are silicone mats that doubles as a placemat. You may have pretty placemats that you don’t want to get dirty or you want to protect your table. Just put down the down and the mess is contained to that area. I love that you can roll it up and put it in your purse to go to a restaurant. You can put it down and if your child puts their food on the SiliMAT you don’t have to worry about germs. Sometimes your child might forget that they can’t set something down on the table. Noah constantly does this, and I have to say you can’t eat that. I mean I am sure the restaurant cleans the table but you never know. I really like how easy it is to clean them. They wash right off and it’s ready for the next time. You can even put it in the dishwasher. How easy is that? It also has a hole so you can hang it to dry. You could get a couple and use one as a craft mat. I like it better than a regular plastic place mat because it is portable. It doesn’t fall apart after a few washes. I make sure I grab it whenever we go out to eat. I have had a couple people ask me where I got it, I said JJ Rabbit!
Another product JJ Rabbit makes the dipPLATE. Just as the name suggests, it’s a plate with a separate spot for dips. I love this because many kids do not like when their food is touching the dip. As an adult, I don’t like when my food touches each other. I usually don’t use a separate plate or bowl but I like to enjoy foods one at a time. Noah is like me and doesn’t like it touching. Recently, he has started dipping his waffles in syrup but he doesn’t like it on top of them. He is a strange eater. He used to eat something he called beef jerky which was string cheese dipped in applesauce. He likes to use the dipPLATE when he is eating waffles so he doesn’t have to worry about them getting soggy. I personally think there is no such thing as too much syrup. I like that I don’t have to do more dishes too. All of these products are BpA Free, Phthalate free, and PVC Free.
