You can do WHAT with your remote?!?!?

HSN is a home shopping network. It has been parodied in so many movies and TV shows. It is a wonderful invention where you can order things from your couch and phone. It was the early home shopping before you could log on your computer and shop online. I used to marvel at the stuff on HSN and QVC when I was little. It was so neat to see all kinds of things. A lot of the things like the food in my opinion is way over priced. You end up paying twice and sometimes three times the actual cost which is nuts. I do like the easy pay options on both.

It was a commercial and I went to click to see what was on HSN. I was watching them talk about bedding with my mom. I saw in the corner it said hit OK/select to order now. I thought maybe it was an error on their end. Nope if you hit OK/ select you can order things from HSN with your TV remote! My mom and I were saying oh lets order 3 of those in each color and just being dorks. Now ladies and gentlemen you can order things without leaving your home, without using the phone, and now without your computer.

I didn’t personally go as far as trying to order anything. We kept discussing different scenarios of things getting ordered. We kinda talked about it the other day with the cable box and the importance of having a pin number so your cleaning lady can’t watch movies or you get the 300 dollar smut cable bill after you had a house guest. I kept thinking about Noah accidentally ordering stuff from HSN. I am sure he wouldn’t be able to but it is kind of scary to think about. I bet that people that have shopping addictions could just sit there and order stuff. That is actually bad for those that can’t afford it and rack up their credit cards. I know people can do that with any form of shopping but I mean it is weird to be able to order products with your cable remote. What are your thoughts? Have you ever ordered anything with your remote other than PPV or anything On Demand?

The Secret Life of the American Teenager Returns!

I love the show The Secret Life of The American Teenager. I have seen every episode! I know I am 28 years old and it is a show for teens. I can’t help but watch it. I think it so interesting. I wouldn’t recommend it for young kids though. I am so excited to find out that it starts up again on Jan. 4th! I will watch every week like I have ever since the first episode. I wonder what is going to happen this season. I bet it will be great. I hope they have a marathon of last season on before. They usually do. Yes I watch the marathons too lol! I am a dork like that. I love everything Secret Life. That is all.

I wonder when the third season comes out on DVD.

Wife Swap issues!

I like to watch Wife Swap as I have told you before. It is on Monday through Friday on Lifetime a few times each day. Wife Swap has been on for 6 seasons I believe. I don’t understand why Lifetime only plays the same 15 episodes over and over and over there are so many other ones. It drives me crazy. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen the same ones over and over. There are some I haven’t even seen but I know these 15 episodes by heart. Please Lifetime put on different episodes please! This one was on like three weeks ago!

I am also wondering when the NEW season of Wife Swap will be on ABC. I know it always starts later than the regular season but come on now. Last year it started on Halloween I think. Here it is December and where is my Wife Swap. The website says that new episodes are coming soon. It has said that since September. Anyone have any idea?

I love NCIS!!

It is Tuesday! Tuesday is my favorite day of the week. I know you are thinking that is a weird favorite day of the week. Four simple worlds Naval Criminal Investigative Service or NCIS! NCIS is my favorite show, I love all of the characters and actors. I started watching NCIS when I was pregnant with my son. I fell in love. I have the first four seasons on DVD.

I love Mark Harmon aka Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. He is my favorite actor and the most attractive man in the world. His wife Pam Dawber is one lucky woman. Gibbs is my favorite character on the show naturally. I love his firm personality. He is like a papa bear and will occasionally have a sweet moment with his team. It doesn’t happen too often but when it does it just makes me love Gibbs more. I really like the dynamic of Gibbs and Abby’s relationship. He is always really sweet to her.

I really like Abby too. I have always wanted to be a forensic scientist. I would love to learn how to use the Major Master Spectrometer or just hang out with her in her lab. I would totally bring cupcakes. I love Abby’s personality and I want to try a caff-pow. I think it is awesome that Pauley really has a Master's Degree in Criminology and is obsessed with forensic science. I have to give a shout out to Bert. Bert the tooting hippo. I want to squeeze him.

I remember Sean Murray from his days as Thackery Binx on Hocus Pocus. He was turned in to a cat by the Sanderson Sisters. McGee aka Probie is a cutie and I can’t stand how Tony is mean to him. Tony seems to be getting “nicer”. I like most people are waiting for Tony and Ziva to start a relationship. I don’t know if that would ever happen. It might ruin the whole love/hate dynamic that they have together. I love Tony’s constant movie references. I keep waiting for him to reference Hocus Pocus in a Halloween episode kind of like they referenced David McCallum’s days in The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Ducky is a great character. I love his stories and how he talks to his guests. For those who don’t know he is the Medical Examiner at NCIS. I like Ziva (Coty De Pablo) but she is no Kate. Sorry Special Agent David. I really wish Kate would come back. My mom is still upset about Ari killing Kate. Kate was a good agent. I also liked Lauren Holly’s character Director Jenny Shepard. I liked her so much better than Director Vance. He is supposed to be that way though. Every time an agent dies on NCIS I cried.

I love NCIS. No wonder it is the number 1 TV show. The show is a drama but it definitely has humor to it. It is a unique show because it is serious yet funny at the same time. I love the story lines on NCIS too. I don’t really have a favorite episode. I love them all. I prefer the ones where there is an actual murder though. I am not too fond of the arms dealer episodes. I watch them every time I can. I have seen them all many times. Except the newer ones that haven’t been on very much.

My dream is to go to the set of NCIS and meet all of the actors. I would love to be on the show. I would love to be Abby’s forensic friend. Not an assistant because she likes to work alone. Of course I would dream of being Gibbs’ new love interest but I don’t think that would happen. Considering I have brown hair everyone knows Gibbs loves red heads. I would be honored to talk to any of the actors on the show too.

Really people watch NCIS. It is a great show. It is on Tuesday nights at 8pm ET on CBS and on USA all the time like every night almost. You will know what I am talking about after one show you will be hooked. There is also a NCIS soundtrack and a NCIS soundtrack volume 2. It has music featured on the show. I don’t own either yet but, I love the music. Pauley Perrette has also released a cd and owns her own recording studio GO records.

This is just my opinion, I was not asked to write anything about NCIS or CBS. I am just sharing with you about my favorite show.

CBS or NCIS if you read this please email me. I would love to work with you and/or come to the set.

Let's talk TV Kids edition!

I wrote about what shows are my favorites so I thought I would do the same for Noah. Noah loves Sprout. He enjoys watching pretty much anything on Sprout. He loves the Good Night Show. I actually have on video with my cell phone of Noah saying I love the Good Night Show. I don’t have a video camera. He also enjoys watching Caillou. Caillou is a really cute show. We also watch Barney as most almost 3 year olds do. He likes to watch Thomas and Friends. Noah has a love for trains and loves Thomas stuff. He likes the sprout originals as well such as Fireman Sam (Fire Sam), Dive Olly Dive (Dive Dive), and The Mighty Jungle.

Noah also enjoys some of the shows on Noggin like Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, Dora and Diego and Yo Gabba Gabba. Thanks to the wonders of On Demand he can watch certain shows when he wants to see them. I wish they would put more shows on demand but I am happy with the ones we have.

He enjoys watching DVD’s as well. We love Baby Faith DVD’s. Baby Faith is a series of DVD’s like Baby Einstein except they are based on the Bible. They are hosted by Jodie Benson who was the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid. They are so cute. My favorite is God made Music which is the story of David and Goliath. There is a rap in there that is so adorable. You should check them out. We also have some of the Baby Einstein DVD’s. Noah still enjoys watching them too.

A lot of the time Noah isn’t plopped down on the couch with a bag of candy doing nothing but watching TV. He runs around and plays and does other things. He will stop what he is doing to watch something if it catches his eye. For the most part he is a multi-tasking little boy.

Let's talk TV!!!

I thought I would talk about what TV shows we watch in my house. Just so you guys can get to know me better.

My Favorite TV show is definitely NCIS. I am a huge Mark Harmon fan. I think he is the most attractive man ever! I also like to watch Monk. I am bummed that it is the final season. I completely understand why Tony Shaloub is moving on. I am sure he is so type casted now and ready to branch out from the obsessive compulsive detective. Thanks to almost all TV shows on DVD you can watch all the episodes whenever you want. It’s not like the old days where once a show was over you had to wait and hope that the show is syndicated in reruns. I am a big crime show junkie. I love Law and Order of course it is not the same after Jerry Orbach left and ultimately passed away. Lenny is definitely my favorite character on Law and Order. I have noticed that TNT rarely shows any episodes with Lenny anymore. They keep showing the newer shows. None of the replacement characters hold a candle to Lenny. I guess I never really got in to the shows without him. I like Law and Order SVU the most out of the Law and Order series. I really like all the actors on the show and the character interaction is amazing. I also really like Cold Case. Cold Case is really interesting. I wish it was on TV more though. It is on a few times during the week and usually at like 2 am. I occasionally stay up and watch it but more often then not I try to be asleep by then.

I love TV court shows too. I am watching Judge Judy as I type this. It is just funny to watch. I have a lot of respect for Judge Judy even when I don’t agree with her ruling. I also like to watch The People’s Court. Judge Marilyn Milian is really caring and compassionate but she has a don’t mess with me attitude when she needs to. I spent two weeks in the hospital when I was pregnant with my son. I was waiting to have my scheduled C-Section due to complications. The nurses would always comment about me watching Court shows saying my baby was going to be a lawyer. Looking back it is funny because Noah loves Judge Judy. He watches it all the time. He even asks to watch it when she isn’t on.

I have been watching The Secret Life of The American Teenager. I have seen every episode and I love it. I know it gets mixed reviews especially from parents. I think that it is a great show. I think that if parents watch it with their children than it could be a conversation starter. I don’t think younger children should watch the show until they are old enough to understand it. It is rated TV-14 for a reason. I used to go to the Secret Life Forums on ABC Family and I was shocked at what I saw! There were teenage girls talking about how badly they want to get pregnant. Some would say how they are pregnant and how they planned it. It was all really sad. I know it is happening but I guess I am sad that it is. I know I am not a teenager anymore but I am not that old. That is a whole other post to write someday.

So I hope you enjoyed reading about some of the shows I like to watch. If you haven't seen some of them I highly recommend them all. Especially NCIS!

Understanding Noah

As all mothers do...Sometimes they have trouble understanding what their child is saying to them. There are times where I am thinking what on Earth are you saying hunny? I feel like I need to whip out my Noah to English dictionary and look up the words he is saying to figure it out. For awhile now Noah has been saying wanna watch (what sounds like)Priest. So I am replaying the shows that he has watched lately in my head. No priests. He will say what show he wants to watch on demand by the episode like Caillou Training wheels or Shoo Shoo. Then I thought maybe he was saying Police. I knew there was an episode of Caillou about a police officer. No that wasn't it. So he said wanna watch frosty priest. I still had no clue what he wanted to watch. I finally figured out he wanted to watch Ferocious Beast. Priest was Beast. There are other things he says that I have no idea what he is saying and still can't figure out. He is still learning to talk and although he has a vast vocabulary he just hasn't mastered pronunciation yet. Of course that will come in time. So I can't complain. It is just so confusing sometimes to see him try so hard to tell me something and I don't know what it is. I love how smart and how determined he is in everything he does.
