Rhapsody KIDS Helps Kids Listen to Music Safely plus Giveaway

Noah loves to listen to music. I think it started when he was a baby. I have a video of him listening to classical music from a toy. He used to listen to the same CD every night when he was a toddler too. He is very particular about what he likes to listen to. He is also really conscious about what he considers bad words. He refuses to watch or listen to anything with a bad word in it. I think it is a great thing, but sometimes what he considers a bad word isn’t really one. He went through a period where he thought the word evil was a bad word. Honestly, it is hard to find music for kids his age. A lot of kid’s music is either tween stuff like Justin Bieber or what Noah considers “baby music.” He does enjoy the songs my family used to listen to on road trips. I would love to broaden his horizons but I am concerned about adult lyrics and language. I remember we went to a birthday party when Noah just finished kindergarten. The little girl had music playing that was totally inappropriate. There were songs about being naked and the language was awful. I felt bad because the party favor was a cd of the music. It was never played because I don’t allow that type of music in my home. It is tricky because no one really buys CDs anymore. When is the last time you purchased a cd? Now everything is downloaded or streaming. There are many sites where you can stream music but are they really kid safe? I thought about letting Noah use one of my streaming sites but they have scary ads or something a nine year old should see or hear.

I learned about a service called Rhapsody KIDS that offers kid friendly music. It’s really neat because you can download your kids’ favorite music and can be played anywhere. You don’t need to worry about having a wi-fi connection either, which is great when you are traveling or waiting at the doctor’s office. Sometimes Noah has to go to appointments with me when I can’t get one while he is at school. If you don’t have a music library, don’t worry. There are lots of pre-approved playlists that offer the newest and most popular music. You don’t have to wonder if your child is listening to something that they shouldn’t be. It can really give you a peace of mind especially if you are in the middle of an appointment or trying to drive. It’s also really easy to use so you won’t hear “Will you change the song for me again?" or "oh no not this song! Mom!! change it please? Hurry up!"
