Always Do the Right Thing

It is always important to always do the right thing. It doesn’t matter what it is, or how much you will benefit from it. You have to do the right thing in all situations.  I am teaching Noah to always do the right thing.  Recently, I wanted to order my salami and I waited until I had a coupon code, which happened to be the same day I was able to order more.  I put in a coupon code I received from the company on a post card and I couldn’t remember if it was the same one I used before as I have ordered from there a couple times. I remembered I had. So I closed their website and went to do other things. When I got their newsletter, I was so excited, I had a feeling that I should wait that morning. I put in the coupon code and was ready to check out. I noticed that the website had taken forty-two dollars off my order, making it $2.50 before the shipping.  I knew that had to be a mistake.  I immediately emailed them and told them what happened. I waited about ten minutes after I emailed and decided I should call them. I didn’t want it to get on a deal site or a coupon site and end up costing them big money.

I really don’t like talking on the phone unless I know you really well because I get really nervous. I sucked it up and called anyways. Last thing I would want is a company that I really like to have to go out of business. After all they have my salami and are a great company to order from. I was really nervous as I explained what was going on and they were very thankful that I caught their mistake and told them about it.  They are a company that really strives on great customer service and I wanted to do the right thing. I used this as a learning experience for Noah and how it is important to do the right thing.  It is my job to teach him these things. We talk about the right thing and the wrong thing to do.  I always try and do the right thing. If something isn’t rung up right where I wasn’t charged for something I will say something.  I would hate to see someone have to pay for something or feel the guilt of doing the wrong thing.

Sometimes it is easier, and more beneficial not say anything, but to me personally I rather go the extra mile and do the right thing. I am the example my son has and I want him to always do the right thing too.

Attention Canadians!

Anyone who lives in Canada I am so jealous of you. It has been 4 years since I have had any Freybe Pepper Salami and much longer for the Gipsy Salami. I love it. It is so good. I want to taste some right now. They don’t sell it in my state at all I don’t think. They told me there isn’t anywhere that sells it near me. Yet I still look and I still long for it. Nothing compares to you Freybe. I wish they would sell it again near me. I would be so incredibly happy.

I have tried online places but I don’t want to pay up wards to 40 dollars for ONE pound of salami, even though it is worth it. I just can’t justify it. I would pay like 20 but 40 is too much. If anyone lives in Canada look for Freybe Salami it is delicious. It has a spice ring around it. I am drooling just thinking of it. The Gipsy is my favorite, followed by the Pepper Salami then the Parmessano Salami.

Anyone out there in Canada, please send me Freybe Salami and I will be your bestest friend in the whole wide world. Pretty Please with sugar on top?

Aloha Friday!

Photobucket

My friend Kailani has a wonderful Friday meme called Aloha Fridays.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

Today's Question is: What is your favorite food that you can no longer get because they stopped making it or stopped selling it anywhere you could find it?

It seems like most of the time I start liking something new, They stop making it or somehow it becomes unavailable. It frustrates me to no end.

My favorite food that I can't get is Freybe Salami. I love the Gipsy Salami, the Black Pepper Salami and the Parmesan Salami. They used to sell it at a local grocery store back in 1999. I fell in love. It is so delicious. They stopped selling it here. I was heart broken. I know it is kinda silly to be heart broken over food but it was so good. For Christmas 2005 I got some Pepper Salami as a gift from my mom. Its made in Canada. I keep hoping one of my Canadian friends will send me some but it hasn't happened yet.

A glimmer of hope came the other day when Gourmet Deli's website was finally working after two years of being under construction, I was so excited. I tweeted and tweeted and when I found some of my Gipsy Salami I was so happy. So I tried to order some. The credit card was denied. I tried for 3 hours to get it to go through and it wouldn't. I called the cc company, the card is fine. So I keep trying and nothing. I started to suspect it was a scam. It said that it did paypal payments but I couldn't click anything. I thought since it is the website Freybe said to use to order with the link and everything I thought ok. It sounds legit. So I finally decided to email Gourmet Deli and see about the Paypal options. I wrote them and bam it came back undeliverable. So I decided to email the president of the bigger company to see if he could help. No Response. I started following Freybe on twitter. They haven't responded. I thought maybe there was a glitch so I tried again today. Nope didn't work.
I went from really excited to pretty bummed out. I hope Fryebe can help me. All I want is my Salami! Freybe can you hear me?

So What is your tragic food story?
