I can’t believe it’s almost Halloween and they leaves are
changing. Thankfully it hasn’t been too cold. I hope we don’t have snow on
Halloween like we did last year. It was miserable and I ended up wearing socks.
I hate socks but my feet were purple. One of my favorite things to do is look
at the leaves changing. I love all the bright colors. Who doesn’t love jumping
in a big pile of leaves? Its lots of fun. When I see piles of leaves, it reminds
me of being at my grandparent’s house after my grandpa raked the leaves and we
would jump in them and make leaf angels. A few years ago I went to New
Hampshire in the fall. The leaves were pretty amazing from what we saw. We had
talked about doing a drive to look at the leaves but with Hurricane Sandy
closing in, we had to get supplies. So instead of going and seeing leaves, we
had to scour Wal-mart for bottles of water. The shelves were pretty much empty.
Everyone beat us to the store. Thankfully we weren’t hit badly at all. I don’t
even remember if it rained. The power was out but we made the best of it. My
flight was cancelled too, that was stressful to wonder if I was going to get
home in time for Halloween. I ended up getting a flight in the afternoon and
all was well. I would love to go to New England again in the fall to see the
leaves. I wrote an article about Fall Foliage in Maryland in hopes to take Noah
to Washington D.C. in the fall someday. He loves nature and history. He already
asked to go to the Smithsonian sometime. When we lived in Florida we didn’t
have real seasons so it’s nice to have the leave changing again.
